1. Current Evaluation Our company has previously positioned improvement in both financial soundness and capital returns as one of our management objectives, setting improvement in ROE and ROIC as goals. We currently calculate our cost of equity capital at approximately 5%, and while ROE has continuously exceeded our cost of equity capital over the past five years, and also exceeds the cost of equity capital calculated using CAPM as of March 31, 2025, we recognize that this level is low. 2. Initiatives for Improvement Our company disclosed its Medium-term Vision for the fiscal year ending March 2026 in May 2022. Beyond merely sales growth, through strengthening expense control and improving capital efficiency, we have set targets of ROE of 10% or more and ROIC of 10% or more, and in our medium-term vision, we will strengthen the following initiatives: (1) Strengthening of Infrastructure Foundation (Strengthening approaches to new systems, restructuring logistics systems, creation of future talent) (2) Strengthening of Business Foundation (Home appliance business, ELS business, logistics services business, education business) (3) Strengthening of Customer Foundation (Dominance reinforcement, strengthening customer contact points) (4) Capital Policy (Dividend policy, share buyback policy) (5) Strengthening of Sustainability Management (6) Strengthening of Corporate Governance (7) Information Disclosure Through these initiatives, we will work toward strengthening profitability, improving capital returns and PBR, strengthening investment and explanation for growth strategies, and improving capital efficiency through shareholder returns, while conducting management conscious of capital costs and stock prices to maximize corporate value.
